Marilyn Manson Murders Evan Rachel Wood Lookalike in New Music Video

In his new music video, Marilyn Manson is shows beating and killing a woman who looks a lot like his ex, Evan Rachel Wood.

Marilyn Manson has never really been the personification of good taste, but he’s outdone himself this time, as the shock rocker appears to promote domestic violence in his latest music video for “Running to the Edge of the World.”

The video, posted on PerezHilton.com, seems innocuous at first. It appears to be a single-take video in which Manson sings directly into the camera. But around the four-minute mark, the video takes a horrible, tasteless turn, as the shock rocker is portrayed viciously beating and murdering a young blonde woman – who bears a striking resemblance to Evan Rachel Wood, Manson’s ex. By the end of the song, the woman is lying lifeless and bloody in a bathtub. (Watch the entire music video here.)

Manson and Wood had a rough breakup in 2008, and although they seemed to have reached good terms earlier this year, Manson’s latest video seems to indicate that their post-breakup relationship hasn’t gone very well. We suppose it’s good Manson didn’t actually beat up his ex (or any other woman, for that matter), but his outlet for of expression is still fairly disturbing.

I honestly dont see the big deal about him beating up a girl in his video. I mean theres always 2 sides to the story. who knows what the bitch did to make him so angry at her. who knows but for now i dont see the big deal in this video. ii think its awesum that he would do somethin like dat. I used to be a hardcore manson fan, but I must say, his transformation into a flabby, pasty, maggot, his walking around with a plaster cobra statue trying to be "eccentric" ala Lady Gaga, and his lackluster video support for his latest album, he's just turned me way off. Was he trying to get coverage for his video on the whole Rhianna 20/20 interview? Crappy "Nothing Compares To U" wannabe video. Violence against women, even under the guise of artistic statement, is never acceptable.

Of course, cause everything Manson does he condones. Do your fucking research, he portrays himself as the villain all the time, he even says so in pretty much every interview since he started hyping the album. Of course, the video wasn't really about him killing Evan Rachel Wood or even in any way related to domestic abuse. But I'm not going to bother explaining any of that, I rather doubt anyone here has the attention span.

I'm really disappointed to see so many articles like this. Marilyn's videos always have been shocking but they've also always had so much depth to them as well, but the media just go with the bad/obvious and run with it. Never thought what's the meaning behind the song/video? Marilyn uses a great deal of metaphors in his work, I wish people would try to look deeper into his music or even the man himself and you'd realise why many like him. Of course this video would bring controversy (like all of his music), but I totally disagree that he is promoting domestic violence.
