The way Hollywood works, it's sometimes hard for us common folk to see the difference between a "healthy" Nicole Richie and a worsening Demi Moore.

Fortunately, there are always ex-husbands to try to save the day while the rest of us gawk. According to this week's People magazine cover story, Moore's former spouse Bruce Willis left his eternally floating jet plane to convince the mother of his three daughters to request that she get help before she dies hard (of starvation).

"He was worried about her and wanted her to get better," a source tells the magazine. "Many of her friends did the same thing, but she just wouldn't listen."

The 56-year-old action star is currently taking care of two (Rumer, 23, and Tallulah, 18) of the couple's three daughters (Scout, 20, is away at college) while Moore seeks treatment.

"It's hard for Ru right now to see her mom in this situation," another source tells the magazine of Rumor's current mental state.

Meanwhile, according to X17 Online, her more recent ex, Ashton Kutcher, has returned from his time hanging with models in Brazil and was spotted visiting Moore's Los Angeles home on Wednesday.
