With so many love triangles, quadrangles, rhombuses and hexagons happening on Glee, it’s no surprise that there are equally as many rumours about on-set romances as well. Unfortunately, Cory Monteith revealed today that the one we most hoped was true – that he and Lea Michele are singing their own sweet music together – has turned out to be even faker than Terri’s pregnancy.
"[Lea and I] are great friends. We've become really close over the show, but we're just friends. We're not dating," Monteith, who plays the kind-hearted quarterback Finn, told E! News. “I'm single."
The 27-year-old actor also laughed off rumours that Michele, 23, is engaged to her (gay) Spring Awakening star Jonathan Groff.
But for you gossip-hungry gleeks out there, you’ll be happy to know that Monteith’s costar, Mark Salling (Puck), didn’t deny his rumoured relationship with reality star Audrina Patridge.
"You know, I'm just hanging out," was all Salling would tell E! News. "What's my stock answer for that? Lemme think. I forgot."
Smirking, he added: "Me and Cory are definitely together.”
And with one simple sentence, millions of pieces of slash fan-fiction came into existence.
