Rihanna's interview with Diane Sawyer continues on 20/20 tonight, but before you bother putting off your Friday night plans (of watching a fourth straight episode of What Not To Wear) to hear the pop star's frank account of what happened the night of Feb. 7, People's already obtained a partial transcript.

In the interview, Rihanna confirms that the fight between her and then-boyfriend Chris Brown started over a text message. The text was from another woman and Brown wouldn't admit it, Rihanna claims.

"I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth. And I wouldn't drop it," Rihanna says. "I couldn't take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it. ... It escalated into him being violent towards me. And it was ugly."

During the assault, Rihanna says she kept asking herself, "When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop? He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank. He was clearly blacked-out. There was no person when I looked at him."

Battered to the point that her face was swollen and bleeding, Rihanna says she knew she had to escape the car.

"My next option was to get out of the car and walk, start walking in a gown and a bloody face," she said. "I didn't have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan."

As the pop star revealed in the first part of her interview with Diane Sawyer -- which aired Thursday on Good Morning America -- she couldn't find the strength to part ways with Brown immediately after the incident, despite the horrific assault. And as she continues to explain in this new half of the interview, Brown refused to let go.

"The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally dangerous," she says. "Because it was a bit of an obsession."

"Love doesn't go away right away. He didn't accept that very well. Obviously he didn't want us to be apart. But I had to make a decision for me."

After pleading guilty to assault, Brown's sentence included a restraining order that prevents him from being within 100 yards of Rihanna for the next five years.

Still, Rihanna says she still has love for Brown.

"I don't hate him at all," she says. "I actually love and care about him. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up. And just take this as something you had to go through to grow up and learn."
