Ryan Seacrest has a lot to apologize for -- most involving crimes against good taste (see everything from his production credits on just about every E! reality show to his eyeball-searing abuse of spray tan).

But today, Seacrest is the one accepting other people's apologies -- representatives of the U.S. Army to be exact. And no, it doesn't have anything to do with a rejected offer to host the next USO tour.

Late last week, Army reservist and Seacrest's alleged stalker Chidi Uzomah was arrested after he appeared at an E! studio in L.A. bearing a knife. (Presumably to take Seacrest -- cringe -- out?)

A spokesman for the U.S. Army has since issued an apology on behalf of this dangerously DJ-obsessed reservist. "We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously," read the statement obtained by TMZ.

Uzomah was known to security guards at E! prior to his arrest last week, BBC reports. Uzomah, 25, was previously found guilty of assaulting Seacrest's bodyguards -- which he did while struggling to get to the TV host at a charity event.

The army reservist is facing a felony charge for stalking, as well as misdemeanor charges for breaking the restraining order Seacrest filed against him, BBC reports.

This article is unreal, especially after the recent happenings at Fort Hood, Texas. This man (Uzomah) poses a real threat to Ryan Seacrest and anyone in his vicinity. Mr. Seacrest owes no one an apology and this article is ridiculous.
