Anyone else miss the good old days, when the only thing Kirk Cameron was trying to save was Leonardo DiCaprio from sleeping in a high school closet? Now the former Growing Pains-er is out to save the souls of college students, with cringe-worthy results.

Cameron recently visited UCLA's campus to hand out copies of a "revised" edition of On The Origin of the Species, in which the author attempts to connect Darwin to Hitler, reports TMZ. But when the actor was confronted by skeptical students armed with cellphone cameras, he proved that his debating skills pretty much max out at “it's in the Bible, so there!”

Check out the video below to see Cameron get served with a scientific smackdown, while he dishes out such feeble retorts as, "I believe that Darwin was absolutely ... that the end game was to make God ... was to remove God from the world view of .. I think that that was the end game." (The video quality sucks and you'll have to crank the volume to make out what he's saying, but trust us, it's worth sticking it out.)

Ironically, Cameron himself proves Darwin's evolution theory with this video. Over the years, he's evolved from one of our most cherished teen crushes to a bumbling ignoramus.
