Mariah Carey Isn’t a Diva, She Just Likes Having People Lower Her Onto Couches. Don’t We All?!

Despite what this Blingee would suggest, Mariah Carey isn't a diva. She's just famous enough to have people lower her onto couches. Which is kind of awesome.

Thank you, Mariah Carey, for reminding us there's more to being a "diva" than having the word bedazzled on the butt of your Wal-Mart yoga pants.

Not that the pop star has actually been wowing audiences with her "diva" vocals lately (The Daily Mail claims she partially lip-synched her recent performance on British Idol-style show The X Factor). No, rather MiMi has reportedly been revelling in some old-fashioned "diva" behaviour of the “fill-my-dressing-room-with-5,000-white-roses-picked-by-Sri-Lankan-orphan-unicorns” variety.

Not that the above request was on her rider (that we've heard yet), but when Carey visited the set of British talk show GMTV, apparently the staff weren't quite prepared for Carey's fussbudgetry.

"She had two people to lower her on to the GMTV sofa, in case her dress got crushed, one person to walk in front of her backwards at all times in case she fell over and several people behind the camera making sure she was going to be filmed from the right angle," the show's host, Kate Garraway, told Britain's New! Magazine.

"Have you ever heard anything like it? Oh, and she brought her own toilet roll as well."

Garraway added: "I've heard a lot of rumours about her being a diva over the years and guess what? It turns out it's all true! While Mariah was very nice, the amount of people in her entourage was hilarious. They outnumbered the entire GMTV crew!"

Carey's reps told The Sun newspaper that Garraway's statements were a "clear, gross exaggeration."

The rep continued: "With regards to the 'entourage,' every star of Mariah's calibre is surrounded by a working team and Mariah doesn't actually have any more people working with her than any other major star."

ok buddy, i want to fill you in on something, mariah carey may be able to sing but i dont consider her an artist to be wowed. Lets look at something, how many of her songs does she actually write and how many backup singers are there to make her look good. She is just another example of the record companies packaging up a somewhat attractive woman and selling her to the masses. She CANT act, and when she sings it is for little portions of the song, the rest is her back ups earning her a paycheck. Her behaviour is completely irrational and she needs to wake up to the fact she is a human being. We all are people who deserve to equal treatment and noone should be made to be her foot stool. I cant express enough how I think she does not deserve the treatment she thinks she does. Oh and in closing lets all remember when Obama was brought into office and she was at the ceremony and she threw a fit cause she couldnt be in the front with him. Guess what princess, he (obama) deserved the spoiled treatment cause he is doing something for the betterment of the world, you arent (though your charity work is respected by me)

By the way, are you by any stretch of the imagination her friend? Or even know someone who knows someone who works for her? And yes I will admit she has a very lovely voice but that still doesn't give anyone the right to be catered to like a god or to have people like you try to fight their battles for them by belittling others. So in conclusion, unless you are her manager or relative (which i am %100 sure you're not, just a heart broken fan) do not bother defending ur over rated opinion because no one cares, we will make up our own minds thank you very much. By the way 'tyny bit life ike' does not make sense and is completely spelled wrong and you don't know what parallelism in writring is do you?

Poor, jealous retards , ignorant, coveting, people who obviously dont know Mariah or what is it to be a PERSONA, or even know her in person, let alone that those were NEVER or wont ever be Mariah´s friends, so get a life a tyny bit life ike hers and u may be a tiny bit happy, since you cant seem to be able have one and admit she is one of the very fewest artists we have left in the world.
