How do you build the perfect pop star? Going off of "Turn Me On," the new music video from Nicki Minaj and David Guetta, you'll need some training in advanced robotics. Guetta's the mad robot doctor in this instance -- helping Minaj take her Harajuku Barbie schtick one perpetually high-heeled step too far in the video's opening frames, building the "Super Bass" hitmaker from the titanium-skeleton up.

"Turn Me On," Minaj's latest collaboration with the French DJ (she also appeared on his track "Where Them Girls At"), showcases the Grammy nominee as a pop belter -- not the spitfire rapper with a potential personality disorder we've come to know and love. As such, the Build-a-Barbie concept seems apt; there's no clearer way to herald a pop star's reinvention than literally rewiring her.

Some questions remain, though:

1) What's up with the Steampunk outfits? (Does someone have a nerdy sister whose Etsy store could use an uptick in business?)

2) Are naked Barbie and Ken-bots considered NSFW? (Minaj has had some trouble with the censors lately, so we thought we'd ask. According to Billboard, BET is calling Minaj's "Stupid Hoes" video too assy for TV. Gratuitious images of the rapper's rear got it pulled from TV.)

3) How did David Guetta find time to study robotics? The dude churned out something like 99.9 per cent of everything on Top 40 radio last year.

"Turn Me On," which Minaj and Guetta performed at the American Music Awards last fall, appears on Guetta's album Nothing But the Beat. Watch it below:
