Madonna's new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin'," has an official release date: Friday, Feb. 3.
It also has its requisite, accompanying record sleeve. (The art was released Sunday; please refer to the photo above -- the one featuring Madge pulling at threadbare chemises from the juniors section.)
And as every pop single, particularly a Madonna single, needs a music video to help promote it, we'll be getting one of those, as well -- Feb. 3, apparently -- though first, the clip will be teased on American Idol Thursday, Feb. 2 -- something we know because there's already a teaser for that teaser.
We've posted that commercial for a commercial for a commercial below -- and, if you squint through all the Idol-related subtitles, you should be able to make out a few seconds of Madonna and cohorts M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj -- plus plenty of pom-poms and football players, lest you forget Madge is booked for the Super Bowl Feb. 5. Considering the preview is a mere 10 seconds, we can't tell whether the background talent bears any resemblance to the cast of W.E. -- but why would the Queen of Pop pass on a new marketing opportunity? Guess we'll have to wait until Friday to see if, to use the football parlance, she dropped the ball.
According to Billboard, Megaforce helmed the video -- as in the director responsible for the cartoon violence of Is Tropical's "The Greeks" (watch it), not the 1982 Barry Bostwick movie. The song, as previously reported, was co-written by Madonna, Martin Solveig, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Interested music-buyers will be able to purchase it exclusively on iTunes Feb. 3 - 6.
MDNA, Madonna's first album since 2008's Hard Candy, arrives March 26.
