What do you get when you cram 10,000 screaming fans, nine mega-star performances and more CanCon musicians than you can shake a stick at into downtown Toronto? The MuchMusic Video Awards, of course. And this year things are shaping up to be even more squeal-inducing than ever: the nation's music station has announced this year's performers will include punkette Avril Lavigne, pants-wetter-turned-singer Fergie, screamo spazs Billy Talent, teen queen Hilary Duff, high school heroes Alexisonfire, Casanova playboys Maroon 5, rapper/bling pimp Belly, emo depressers The Used and veteran rockers Finger Eleven.
For the first time, the performances will be spread out over four stages, including one on the roof, which is reserved for one of the artists (Our money is on Lavigne. She needs space for those high kicks).
"We've pulled out all the stops to deliver the hottest acts out there," says Sheila Sullivan, MuchMusic's director of programming, in a statement. "With four stages, fans won't know where to look next."
