New Moon isn't hitting theatres until Nov. 20, but new details about the highly anticipated sequel to blockbuster vamp romance Twilight continue to pour in like hatemail from RPatz fans who are livid that we dared question his hairstyle. (We get it. You can stop spamming us with angry emails. This means you, too, Mom.)
Entertainment Tonight has released extended behind-the-scenes footage from their New Moon set visit, and while the video recycles footage that has already aired (and has no doubt been committed to memory by Twi-hards everywhere), there are a few new nuggets of knowledge for vampire fans to sink their teeth into. (Watch the video below.) An interview with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson backstage at the MTV Movie Awards reveals the origins of their infamous Best Kiss fake-out.
"It was Kristen's idea," Pattinson revealed. "My ideas were so terrible for it that they all got rejected. So I'm happy she told me two minutes before it happened."
"Yeah, I was just like, 'I'm not going to kiss you!'" added Stewart with a grin.
The video also offers fans a glimpse of Bella's birthday party, which proved to be an opportunity for Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper, to finally show his character's dark side. In the scene, Bella gets a paper cut, and the sight of her blood sends the anguished vampire into a frenzy.
"He unleashed the madness; it was crazy," Peter Facinelli told MTV News of the scene, in which Elizabeth Reaser was knocked over during one especially violent take. "It took me and Kellan [Lutz] — non-acting — to hold him back."
The behind-the-scenes video also offers our first glimpse at Bella's awkward "date" with Mike and Jacob. In the book, the trio attend a horror movie that is so gruesome, Mike gets sick. But the scene, which is a favourite of fans of Stephenie Meyer's novel, almost ended up on the cutting room floor.
"Kristen [Stewart] and Taylor [Lautner] had to lobby to get this one scene in the film that wasn't originally in — and I am forever indebted to them for that," Mike Welch -- who plays Mike -- told MTV News.
