The trailer for Salt is out, and thank Xenu that Tom Cruise gave up the starring role to Angelina Jolie (for one thing, he'd look terrible in a blue-streaked Cleopatra wig).

Another trailer, dubbed in Russian, leaked online late yesterday. And while there's something fitting about it, given the movie's Russian spy theme, today’s new trailer means we get to hear AJ's pithy remarks in sassy English.

That is, if you're not too distracted by the smash-‘em-and-slash-‘em-up action to listen.

Apparently the movie's about her character, Evelyn Salt, being caught up in a spy-world case of mistaken identity. Maybe we should watch it again; we were sort of distracted by that leap she took off a semi truck.

Salt is expected in theatres July 2010. Think you’ll still be interested in Angie playing “The Fugitive” eight months from now?

I first saw the "leaked" (as if it were an accident) russian trailer two days ago. It looked cool. Then I saw the english version and my expectations are now down to zero. I really hate to say it, but it looks like every other action movie you've ever heard of or watched. Let's face it: jolie only does well in these types of tired roles. I enjoyed A Mighty Heart, but all around, when she tries to get away from the action role, she generally can't draw many audiences, even when critics are dripping over her supposedly great dramatic performances.
