Scarlett Johansson Movie Pushed Back For Awards Season. Wait…what?

March 29, 2007

In a move that begs the question “You’ve seen her act, right?” producers of Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming film The Nanny Diaries are delaying its release for five months to better compete in the 2008 awards season.

The adaptation of the bestselling Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus novel will star Johansson and Laura Linney and was originally due for an April release, New York Post’s Page Six reports. Producers hope to give the film a fighting chance by scheduling it for trophy time.

“It's better for awards consideration. This is a better plan,” a source told Page Six.

Again: “You’ve seen her act, right?”
