Trailer Talk: New York, I Love You

August 10, 2009

There are very few movies that give us the warm 'n fuzzies like Paris, je t'aime. The 2007 film weaved together a variety of short films from legendary writers and directors to produce a love letter to Paris.

Now, New York City is getting a similar treatment with the upcoming New York, I Love You. The format remains the same: a dozen filmmakers are tasked with crafting shorts that can be about pretty much anything – as long as they take place in the Big Apple and comment on the nature of love.

The all-star cast includes Natalie Portman, Orlando Bloom, Christina Ricci, Bradley Cooper, Hayden Christensen, Andy Garcia, Rachel Bilson, Maggie Q, Ethan Hawke, James Caan, Olivia Thirlby, Julie Christie, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Shia LaBeouf, Chris Cooper, Robin Wright Penn, Eli Wallach, Shu Qi and Blake Lively.

We're especially looking forward to Natalie Portman's directorial debut, as well as the segment starring Shia LaBeouf and Julie Christie, which written by the late Anthony Minghella and directed by Shekhar Kapur.

New York, I Love You opens Oct. 16. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think in the comment section below.
