Nicki Minaj debuted her video for "Stupid Hoe" over the weekend. “Can’t premiere on a network b/c its [sic] important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time,” the rapper Tweeted before releasing the candy-coloured clip online. Subsequently, you and everyone you know watched it approx. 7.5 million times (and counting) on YouTube. A few of those viewers probably worried about having a seizure, and still more pondered whether a Hype Williams music video is the most cost-effective way to moon the population of a small country.
And then, just an hour after sharing the clip, Minaj Tweeted another newsflash. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded -- the album from whence the glitchy "Stupid Hoe" springs -- won't arrive Feb. 14, as previously promised.
"New Album Date: April 3rd. Pink Friday: ROMAN RELOADED. But have no fear. Tons of suprises before then ;). Love Always, HB," Minaj Tweeted.
Duly noted -- though there are tons of non-surprising, previously scheduled events in Minaj's future as well. She's booked to play the Grammy Awards Feb. 12, and a few days before the best new artist nominee takes the stage at L.A.'s Staples Center, she's expected to be at the Super Bowl, Feb. 5 in Indianapolis. Madonna will own the half-time show this year, and since Minaj appears on the Queen of Pop’s upcoming single, place a few of your betting dollars on the MC making an appearance. There hasn't been an official confirmation, but we'll take the ginormous, hot pink "Super Bowl" graphic in the "Stupid Hoe" video as a helpful hint.
