Shun us non-believers if you like, but the one thing that made staying in the theatre until the end of Twilight was the fact Radiohead's "15 Step" played during the final credits. (Work your magic, Thom Yorke, and make the visions of twinkly vampires in baseball jerseys go away forever.)
Apparently, Radiohead could also feature on the soundtrack to Twilight sequel New Moon, as the movie's director, Chris Weitz, revealed frontman Yorke has expressed interest -- no, seriously -- in contributing a song.
But then, Radiohead isn't alone. In possibly the more surreal twist to this new bit of intel, the band will have to get in line with a pile of other artists -- including Coldplay, the Jonas Brothers and Kelly Clarkson – who are already reportedly clamouring to get in on the big sparkly moneybag that is the Twilight franchise.
"Fortunately, I'm not at the stage where I have to turn anybody down yet, because everything is still kind of up in the air," Weitz said in an interview with RottenTomatoes.com. "But I am surprised at some of the bands that have said they're interested. It's kind of great.
"The criterion will still always be what's right for the movie at that given moment, but Thom Yorke is interested; we might, if we're very lucky, get Kings of Leon to do something... it's exciting to be able to have access to this kind of talent."
