A fairy-tale wedding night with a vampire who will love you forever? OK, that’s probably worth the wait. But a new Bruno Mars video?

The video for "It Will Rain," Mars' contribution to the just-released Breaking Dawn, Part 1 soundtrack, is here and posted below -- and though there's been no shortage of Twilight Saga sneak-peeks these past weeks, clips that have teased fans incessantly like a prudish sparklevamp boyfriend on date-night, twihards have had to wait longer than expected for the music video's debut.

Originally, the video was set to premiere Oct. 26. Days beforehand, though, Mars Tweeted that the clip wasn't quite cooked. "Be patient for ya boy," the crooner wrote. And fans, perhaps channelling the stoic Bella Swan, complied. (A subsequent Breaking Dawn soundtrack music video release -- Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years" probably helped curb the Twi-cravings, as well.)

But now that it's here, we have news that will be either good or bad depending on how Twi-obsessed you happen to be. "It Will Rain" isn't packing too much spoileriffic Breaking Dawn footage. That said, there are a few cutaways to film clips that are a nice touch -- mostly because they don't distract from the feel of the video. (Also, one cut to a brooding Edward Cullen makes it seem as though he's been peeping through Mars' windows all this time. And here we thought he only creeped on Bella. That jerk.)

As for the action, co-directors Mars and Phil Pinto (Sleigh Bells, "Infinity Guitars") gave the footage a washed-out nostalgic look that seems to be appearing everywhere from Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" to every other photo app you can buy for your iPhone. And befitting a song about being desperately in love, the clip focuses on a romance between Mars and his model-esque girlfriend. They lounge in their glamorously shabby loft making kissy-faces, and then more kissy-faces -- until some unidentified strife befalls them (maybe she spazzed because he refuses to fix his leaky roof?). Mars must write a song to win her back. The gambit works -- if not because of the song's beauty, then because he just landed it on a Twilight soundtrack and they'll be able to keep themselves in designer jeans and hair product for the rest of their days.

Around the time of the single release, Mars explained that watching Breaking Dawn, Part 1 helped inspire him to write "It Will Rain."

"The Twilight movies for me (are) a love story. But it's a dark love story," Mars told Billboard earlier this year. "And I think the best way to describe the song is: it's the darker side of love. I think that pretty much sums it up."

The soundtrack for Breaking Dawn, Part 1 arrived Tuesday. The movie hits theatres Nov. 18.
