Anticipation for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1's L.A. premiere on Monday has resulted in a Twi-hard tent city springing up in L.A. (As per The Huffington Post, some 700 super-fans were counted camping out as of Thursday, all queuing for a chance to score wristbands to the premiere screening.)
For those of us who don't swoon over the true, true love that exists between a werewolf and a baby, planning an urban camping trip for the sake of movie tickets might seem a bit extreme. But as the Twilight Saga's biggest stars continue to talk up the flick on the late-night circuit, they've promised that Breaking Dawn, Part 1 packs some major spectacle.
Bloody, bed-breaking, near pornographic spectacle.
And it could've been much more awesome, if they hadn't wanted a PG-13 rating.
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday, Robert Pattinson mentioned how his first sex scene with Bella (Kristen Stewart) was initially so explicit that Breaking Dawn was slapped with an R-rating. As per Pattinson, Stewart's too-hot-for-Twilight "thrusting" was to blame -- though as he went on to describe what sort of sexiness was acceptable under a PG-13 standard, the actor described a few "moves" that would make an old, uptight biddy like Edward Cullen sparkle with embarrassment.
(Pattinson's parents -- who were in the Kimmel audience -- definitely looked like they were blushing, at any rate.)
"They kept telling you not to move," Pattinson told Kimmel, beginning to explain how one goes about shooting a not-too-sexy sex scene. "They almost wanted to have a kind of leash on the back of you so you couldn't thrust past a certain -- you could literally only like -- just the tip or whatever."
And so you know, Team Edward, Pattinson wishes he could've given you so much more. "They want to see thrusting," Pattinson said of Twilight fans (as the audience erupted in squeals). "Not probing."
However, if there were ever a problem with "thrusting" on the set of Breaking Dawn, Part 1, Kristen Stewart has clarified a few details. She wasn't to blame, as Pattinson suggested. When Stewart appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, she added her side of the story:
"He's the thruster, not me!"
Still, she admitted to Kimmel that she did, in fact, contribute to the wedding night scene's initial R-rating. "It's weird what tips you over," she said of the rating system. Her theory as to what was too much for tween sensibilities? "Noises."
"You know what's going on if if you go..." said Stewart, not actually going on to make a sound at all, perhaps all-too mindful of what she can and can't moan on television.
