Controversy in Chicago: Andrew Shaw blames Kyle Beach
Remember the story of Kyle Beach? The former Blackhawks player who was sexually assaulted by a member of the organization when he was just starting his NHL career?

In fact, it’s a little hard to forget what happened. For the simple reason that it’s completely unacceptable.

Jonathan Toews, for one, defended Stan Bowman and his assistant because of all they had done for him during his career. Bad leader, you might say…

But wait until you hear what Andrew Shaw had to say about the situation on Chris Nilan’s podcast. I’ll let you listen to the following before continuing:

Calvary. What’s that? To see that someone can say/think things like that….

Basically, Shaw is insinuating that Kyle Beach should never have put himself in a situation like this and that he never would have done it.

I beg your pardon?

It’s as if Kyle Beach shouted out loud that he wanted to be sexually assaulted… And it’s as if, in the end, it was really, really his fault. Really, Andrew Shaw?

This isn’t the first time he’s covered himself in ridicule, by the way. In April 2016, when the Hawks faced the Blues in the first round of the playoffs, Shaw was suspended for one game for using homophobic language.

It’s just a reminder of how much work he has to do to improve as a human being. What he said about Kyle Beach, seriously…

I find it hard to believe that he’s serious when he says that. I just can’t believe it.

After that, you wonder why the victims have trouble sharing their stories. We’re always looking for someone else to blame…

Except for the aggressor. It’s really disgusting.
