NFL: Panthers-Falcons game tickets at 90 cents a pair

In the next few days, I’ll have the chance to fly to Florida.

I’m off to spend some time with my father, who has his butt settled where it’s warm in winter.

I’ve been making my annual holiday trip for several years now. And as usual, a couple of sporting activities will be on the agenda during my stay with our neighbors to the south.

On December 24, my father and I will be at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for the game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buccaneers. Our tickets cost about $115 US each, a relatively reasonable price for an NFL game.

We’re talking about a reasonable price, but that’s nothing compared to the ticket prices we saw for yesterday’s game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers.

It’s worth noting that the weather wasn’t right because it was raining and cold, but still.

Fans had the opportunity to buy a ticket for the damned sum of 45 cents, which is simply insane:

The Panthers have been awful this season and had won just one of their 13 games prior to yesterday’s game.

But when you look at the images that were taken after the first quarter, you realize just how much the fans have abandoned their club:

Sad.

On The Score, we read that there were no less than 70,301 people in the stands for the match between the two teams.

I don’t know who had the mandate to count the number of fans in the stadium, but I think he did his job a little wrong. Hehe.

On a more serious note, I think it’s sad because it sends a clear message to the organization and the players.

We’re a long way from the days of Cam Newton, let’s put it that way…

At least the fans on hand were able to celebrate the Panthers’ 2nd win of the season, 9-7!
