Stars avoid elimination again

The Golden Knights were trying to win Game 5 of their series against the Stars to advance to the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night. The Stars were looking to repeat their feat of Game 4 and stay alive.

Unfortunately for the Stars, the Golden Knights started strongly, scoring the very first goal of the game. No one could stop Ivan Barbashev, who completely undercut Jake Oettinger.

The Stars didn’t want to give up so quickly. Luke Glendening deflected a shot that gave Adin Hill no chance.

The two teams were tied after 20 minutes of play.

Chandler Stephenson quickly broke the tie in the second period. He fired a cannonball into the top corner of the Stars net.

Naturally, the Stars struck back. It was Jason Robertson who brought everyone back on level terms thanks to a lucky rebound in front of Adin Hill’s goal.

Robertson has scored five goals in five games so far in this Western Conference Finals series.

Even after two periods, the tie persisted, with both teams retiring to the locker room with the score at 2-2.

Early in the third period, Joel Kiviranta thought he’d scored with an empty net in front of him, but Adin Hill made one of the finest saves of the playoffs to steal it.

It was all over for Dallas. Ty Dellandrea took advantage of a Vegas defender’s coverage to surprise Hill with a precise shot.

The Stars took the lead with this goal, but it wasn’t the end of Ty Dellandrea’s work. He took advantage of confusion in front of the Golden Knights goal to double his team’s lead.

Dallas held on for a 4-2 victory.

The Stars stayed alive and the series moves to Dallas for game six on Monday. The Golden Knights hold a 3-2 series lead.
