If you've ever wanted to tell Zooey Deschanel to act sexy, now's your chance!
Following in the footsteps of The Arcade Fire, Deschanel and Fox have teamed up with digital media company Interlude to create an interactive music video for the New Girl theme song, "Hey Girl."
The video opens with Jess (Deschanel) and roomies Winston (Lamorne Morris), Nick (Jake Johnson) and Schmid (Max Greenfield ) hosting a "groovy" party with a bunch of "friends." From there, the outcome is up to you. Depending on the whim of the user, Jess' jam could be adorkable (jazz dancing, togas, 60s outfits, cutesy beach photos) or naughty (flirting, PJs, pillow fights and a sexy dance). For those extra keen viewers, there's hidden content that, according to the press release, will "elevate the party to even more outrageous levels of fun!"
There are over 950 variations, which practically guarantees the theme song -- co-written by Deschanel, New Girl creator Elizabeth Meriwether, writers David Finkel and Brett Baer, and the dude that did that creepy cover of "Mad World" from the Donnie Darko soundtrack (Michael Andrews) -- will be stuck in your head for days.
We sure have come a long way since The Rembrandts!
