Time travel didn't work. Circus freaks didn't work. Lesbians didn't work. What more will it take to get you people to start watching Heroes, huh?

As the NBC superhero drama trudges through what could possibly be its last season on the air, the writers have thrown in yet another big shocker that they hope will win back some viewers: they're killing off a major character. And not in the usual "they die, but then are revived, because we didn't want to fire anyone" way!

Warning: Spoilers!

According to E! News, Adrian Pasdar's Nathan Petrelli will be permanently killed off this season. Well, he's getting killed off again – Nathan died last season, but then Sylar shape-shifted into Nathan and had his memory wiped. Does your head hurt yet?

Unfortunately for Pasdar, he didn't find out about his (second) demise until he received the script for that episode.

"Adrian is getting killed off and was pissed about it because they didn't tell him," said E!'s source.

On the bright side, Deadline Hollywood Daily reports that the Pasdar is still getting paid through the end of the season. Take the money and run, Adrian!

What do you think about Pasdar's permanent exit? Do you wish one of the other characters would die instead? Post your thoughts in the comments below.

Pasdar at least should be given an offer to portray another character besides Nathan, the writers killed Ali Larter's original character Nikki Sanders and then she was given new Tracy Strauss. Recently in HEROES ODI blog one user has written that HEROES should include in the plots, since the show is SciFi as well, beings from another world, ETs as you might guess, that are watching earthlings, but especially the ones with abilities and see them as a treat specially Sylar, and that one comes to our world to warn us, like Silver Surfer, but with Pasdar's character Nathan's appearance, and as I remember too in Pasdar's youtube account some user wrote to him if he was given an offer to return as a regular but portraying another character besides Nathan would he accept it, always that the writers of the show would include that theme of aliens, since one thing is right, many super-hero stories have those, and in movie industry the Fantastic Four 2 is the only film close to that. My guess is that some fans thinks that the show need its original cast that has been on the show since it started even if they portray different characters.

Kill him off, but take someone else with him! Nathans died too many times already and frankly, I don't know anyone who's that disappointed to hear about this death. Let's kill someone a little more loveable. Funny, for a show where they said anything would go and nothing is sacred they certainly haven't done a very good job of getting rid of any dead weight. Those bullets that pierced Matt Parkman last epsiode? Let's make those suckers stick, please!

Not really a big shock is it? He's not been in it for ages anyway so he might as well be dead
