We have some good news and some bad news for all you Moonlight fans out there. The good news: Alex O'Loughlin will be back on CBS next season. The bad news: he probably won't be playing a vampire and he definitely won't be on Moonlight.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor has signed a talent holding deal with CBS, CBS Paramount TV and ABC Studios. The one-year deal includes an agreement to star on a new series for the eye network, which will be developed by Mark Gordon, a TV producer who has helped create other hit shows like Grey's Anatomy and Criminal Minds.
This is no doubt a blow to the fervent fan campaign to save Moonlight, the CBS vampire detective series that was cancelled in May. O'Loughlin's dreamy looks and frequent shirtless scenes helped the show attract a die-hard following, but it wasn't enough to save it from a stake in the heart. We're sorry! Please don’t send us angry emails. We get enough of those from the Jonas Brothers fans.
