Armed & Famous Gets Axed; Typing Monkeys Search For New Work

January 29, 2007

In today’s breaking news from left field, Armed & Famous — the reality series that stars La Toya Jackson, Erik “Ponch” Estrada, Wee Man, Trish Stratus and Jack Osbourne as crime-busting police officers — has been cancelled. What could have possibly gone wrong?

CBS decided to yank the series from its schedule effective immediately, which means that the remaining episodes of Armed’s first season will not air, reports the Futon Critic.

In its place, repeats of CSI:NY and Criminal Minds will fill its Wednesday-night (8 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. MT) timeslot on Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 respectively, until Jericho returns from hiatus on Feb. 14.

The show, despite monumental episodes that featured the entire cast getting tasered and Estrada berating a man for masturbating in front of Jackson, was shelved due to poor ratings.
