He made us afraid to go in the water and fall in love with a Skittle-eating alien. Now, director-extraordinaire Steven Spielberg is making the leap to the small screen with two new Fox dramas, reports zap2it.com.
These shows aren’t Spielberg’s first descent into the TV realm – he dabbled on the small screen in the ‘70s and ‘80s and more recently producing Fox’s new spring reality series, On the Lot.
Spielberg’s first new drama will take a look at five friends who are trying to make it in the fashion industry. Ed Burns, from Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, will direct and write the script along with his wife, Christy Turlington.
Writer R. Scott Gemmill (E.R.), will pen the script for the second drama, which will centre on two time-traveling physicists from the WWII era. They warp to the present in order to bring modern day technology back in time to help win the war, but things get interesting when one of the physicists falls in love with a 2007 woman.
Spielberg has no shortage of work these days. It was announced last week that he will produce, along with DreamWorks TV, an adaptation of “The Talisman,” a novel written by Stephen King and Peter Straub.
