Hell Hath No Fury Like a Ghost Whisperer Fan Scorned

November 10, 2008

Remind us never to cross a Ghost Whisperer viewer, because they will not hesitate to shut us out of their lives and tell all their friends how much we suck.

SPOILER ALERT: Fans of the Jennifer Love Hewitt drama were left heartbroken Friday when an accidental shooting left the psychic's husband, Jim (David Conrad), in a coma in hospital. Hewitt's character woke up at his bedside to see her husband apparently awake and well, only to discover that she was speaking to his ghost. Yes, Jim had died and Ghost Whisperer fans are livid.

News of the character's death first leaked in September; the fan response seemed unbelievable then but it was small potatoes to their reactions after seeing the episode.

The comments section of a recent Dose.ca article on the plot twist has exploded since the episode aired. Some examples of the many, many comments left since last Friday:

Sabrina: "I am REALLY PISSED OFF!!!! If Jim is dead I am not going to continue watching I am going to watch next week to find out but after that I'M DONE!!!!"

Bandrsntch: "I just don't think I want to watch anymore, without him and him being a ghost in the show won't cut it either. What lame brain Hollywood executive thought this would be a way to spice up the show?"

Nancy: "GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!! I love this show I watch it every week and I can't believe they are killing off the husband. What is wrong with the producers ?? This will kill the show. STUPID STUPID STUPID."

Lee Grimm: "I think taking Jim off the show was a big mistake. There aren't many shows anymore where husbands and wives are close and work together like they did and still so much in love."

Carolee: "I just learned a phrase the other day that I had never heard before...'jump the shark'...that's what they did with this show for me. I will not be watching anymore."

jb : "So disappointed that they killed Jim, he added to the heart of the series, wish they didn't do that."

If you missed the scene in question, you can watch video of it below, which also features Hewitt practically begging for an Emmy. Keep dreaming, lady.
