Just as we were embracing the return of McDreamy and the McGang to primetime, US Weekly is reporting that Katherine Heigl is hoping to escape the long hours of being a pretend doctor and move on. (You know, because that is so much harder than an actual career in medicine.)

After big-screen box office success with Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, Heigl has proved (to herself) that she is not limited to ensemble-cast TV shows.  She used this to renegotiate her Grey’s contract last year and get the raise she wanted.

MSNBC is also reporting that she’s contemplating leaving to focus on her film career (and perhaps spend more time cuckolding Josh Kelly?) Stop channeling Meredith’s indecision! Make up your mind!

However, the US source speculates that Heigl’s contract has her stuck in Dr. Isabelle Stevens scrubs for a while longer: “I don’t think she’ll be able to get out of it.”

We think she’s just tired of getting shit from fans for breaking up George’s and Callie’s marriage on the show.
