Veronica Mars may be dead on television, but the good news is that it might still live on somewhere other than in our hearts.
The Toronto Star reports that Rob Thomas, the show's creator, might develop a Veronica Mars movie.
"I have some ambition to write a screenplay, see if I can shop that and get it made," Thomas tells the Star.
Even if that doesn't work out, Thomas reveals that DC Comics wants to create Season 4 of Veronica Mars in comic book form, much like Dark Horse comics is currently publishing Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8. Sure, it means the original actors won't be involved, but the characters will still be there, which is better than nothing.
Thomas is also asking fans to stop sending Mars bars to CW headquarters. Veronica Mars viewers have been sending the chocolate bars to the network in an effort to convince them to renew the show. This tactic worked when CBS cancelled Jericho – fans sent in 25 tonnes of peanuts to show their support for the show. CBS relented and renewed it. Sadly, the CW isn't going to budge when it comes to Mars.
"This is a tough thing for me to say because I love those people and they have been so good to me, but it's not going to happen," says Thomas.
Of course it's not. The CW has to make room for such quality shows as Smallville and The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll.
