People reports that George Clooney's hush-hush guest appearance on NBC's long-running medical drama ER will air Mar. 12, more than ten years after the actor left the show to become a movie megastar. Returning with him is Julianna Margulies and, together, they are expected to provide some long-awaited, warm-hearted closure to the Doug Ross/Carol Hathaway love story. Hey, better late than never.
NBC and ER producers have refused to confirm or deny Clooney's involvement in the show's final season, apparently forgetting that there's a magical thing called the Internet now, where photos of Clooney in scrubs on the ER set have been circulating for weeks.
"If you're a fan of ER, you won't want to miss this one," was all executive producer John Wells would say of the Mar. 12 episode, reports People.
The final season of ER has been something of a "this is your life!" season, with many past cast members having already returned to pay their respects, including Noah Wyle, Alex Kingston and, strangely enough, Anthony Edwards, whose character died years ago. We know these are skilled doctors, but wow, bringing back a dead guy is downright impressive.
