In an event that should be listed in the dictionary under the definition of "irony," thieves broke into the trailers of several Prison Break stars last Thursday and stole nearly $75,000 US worth of equipment and cash, reports the U.K. Sun.
(Warning! Prison Break spoilers to follow!)
Stars Jodi Lyn O'Keefe (Gretchen Morgan), Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows) and Amaury Nolasco (Fernando Sucre) had their trailers ransacked and many of their personal belongings stolen. The thieves also stole O'Keefe's and Purcell's bank and credit cards, withdrawing money from their accounts and putting charges of several thousand dollars on their credit cards.
"The robbers used the stolen cards to clean out [$32,000] from Jodi's account and put [$18,000] on her credit cards," a source told the Sun. "They also went into Dom's trailer and took his credit card – and they have spent [$2,200] in stores and withdrew [$3,800] in cash."
While Nolasco's financial information wasn't stolen, the burglars did take his passport and computer. Wentworth Miller, who plays Michael Scofield on the Fox drama, was not affected by the robbery.
"Wentworth always keeps his trailer locked — because he is so paranoid," said the source.
The robbery was another unfortunate blow to O'Keefe, who was already upset after finding out her character is being written out of the show.
"She has been in a bad way and crying," another insider told the Sun. "Jodi had to go down to the police station to give a report while still dressed in character. In the episode we were filming, she gets beaten up – so she was all black and blue with blood round her mouth. The police thought at first she has been assaulted."
Although police don't have anyone in custody yet, the thieves were captured on the studio's CCTV and have been identified.
