Are reruns of Ghost Whisperer on Friday nights leaving you cold? Do you watch Punk'd and think, "Well, this is fine, but I'd prefer it if there were no celebrities"? Well, worry not: Global and NBC have renewed Howie Do It for another 12 episodes.
The hidden-camera show, starring Deal or No Deal host and comedian Howie Mandel, premiered earlier this month and pulled in decent ratings, despite its Friday night death slot. Its inexpensive production costs, which are split between NBC and Global, made Howie Do It's renewal pretty much a no-brainer.
Oh, and extra good news for Torontonians: Mandel's been secretly filming the new episodes around the city for last month.
"Due to its hidden-camera approach, Howie asked that we not announce the program's renewal until he had completed shooting in Toronto," said Canwest Broadcast Senior Vice-President Christine Shipton.
But the rest of Canada isn't off the hook – now that Mandel's done shooting in Hogtown, he'll begin shooting the rest of the episodes across the country. You've been warned.
