For one day – one, glorious day – the Scranton branch of Dunder-Mifflin will be a delightful place to work, because The Office has hired Jack Black for one day of chuckle-worthy temp work. Entertainment Weekly reports that the cuddly comedian has signed on to appear in a special hour-long episode of the hit NBC sitcom, scheduled to air immediately following the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.
While Office insiders say that Black won't be playing himself, all other details of his role are being kept strictly under wraps. However, NBC did reveal that the plot of the episode revolves around Dunder-Mifflin boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell) being roasted; considering the prestige that goes along with the post-Bowl time slot, you can bet the Office writers and producers won't pull any punches.
We don't want to tell the Office writers how to do their job, but we will say this: if Black isn't in his underpants by the end of the episode, we are going to be very, very disappointed.
